Early Spring Swarming Spring is here !!!!!!!
Did you know that Australia is one of the few countries left in the world that has wild swarms of "apis milifera - the european honey bee". Disease and mites have caused wild swarms to die out in most countries.
We have had early reports already of wild swarms on the wing.
Every year we field many phone calls from people wanting wild swarms to be removed but conserved.
We are happy to give you details of 'conservator swarm catchers ' in your area who may assist you.
Costs vary. Note- not all swarms or hives can be rescued and a swarm conservator will only attempt a rescue if it is safe to do so. ABC TV. btnwww.abc.net.au/btn/index.html We have recently had a "flying visit" from Sarah Larsen and the "Behind The News" team
BACKYARD BEES screened on ABC 1 . If you missed it go to the btn website - archives - episode 20.
btn is an educational focused program for upper primary and secondary school students - see the website for further educational material. Check out teachers notes and btn site links for further beekeeping stories NEW STOCK ITEM/SERVICES
